Tricolour Quinoa is an organic blend of white, black and red quinoa. With a nutty flavour and a fluffy crunchy texture, Quinoa is an ideal addition to a vegan or gluten free diet. In addition, Quinoa is high in protein and fibre, and one of the few plant foods that contain sufficient levels of all nine essential amino acids. Additionally, high levels of important minerals like Iron and Magnesium make Quinoa deserving of it's superfood status.
Rinse the quinoa under cold running water to remove its bitter flavour. Tip into a pan and add double the amount of salted water. Place over a medium heat and bring to the boil. Reduce to a simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, or until tender and the liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and serve. Try cooking in vegetable stock for extra flavour.
