Cardamon has a strong, pungent, sweet aroma with hints of mint and lemon. Often used in Indian Cuisine, cardamom pods are used in everything from pilau rice to delicious chai tea.
When using the whole pods, split or crush them prior to adding them to your dish. As they can be quite pungent when eaten whole, it is advisable to remove them before serving.
