The bottle must be returned for reuse by Borough Wines :) We pay a deposit on the bottles but aren't currently charging customers one. If the return rate on bottles is too low we will have to initiate a bottle deposit.
Producer in a nutshell
The BARREAU vineyard is a family estate passed down from generation to generation since 1782. Our two Château, Haut-Garriga and Coutreau, are located in the wine-growing Entre-deux-Mers area, 10km away from St Emilion and 30 km from Bordeaux. Nowadays we manage 75 hectares of vines.

How are the grapes grown?
Sustainable in the vineyard with HEV level 3 certification. Low intervention in the cellar with only sulphur for the Vin de France range of wine. 80 years old wines.

How is the wine made?
Skin contact maceration during 44 days, 9 months of ageing on lees. Natural yeast. Fermentation takes place in inox tanks, concrete vats used for ageing. No filtration, only fining by racking.

Interesting nose: apricot, capuchino + medical iodine. Citrus, yeast, lime zest. Long dry mineral finish. Balanced body.
