The bottle must be returned for reuse by Borough Wines :) We pay a deposit on the bottles but aren't currently charging customers one. If the return rate on bottles is too low we will have to initiate a bottle deposit.

La Chiara Farm lies a few Kilometres from Gavi centre, on the hills of Ligurian Pre-Apennine. The farm estate owns 20 hectares of vineyards, cultivated sustainably, where 6 ha are organic certified.

How are the grapes grown?
No chemicals are used, strict pruning. Combination of hand and machine harvest. 6 ha are organic certified and they don’t use any herbicide.

How is the wine made?
Direct pressing of the grapes after harvest; fermentation/ageing in stainless steel vats for 6 months. Selected yeasts, No lees contact to keep it as fresh as possible. 1 filtration.

Tasting Notes
Pale lemon with green tints. Elegant bouquet with hints of apple and floral notes. The palate is medium-bodied with citrus, galia melon and apricot flavours, backed by good acidity and the classic Gavi taste of bitter almonds.
Food Pairing
Best to be enjoyed with fish dishes, or starters such as melon or asparagus. Excellent with risotto.
